Tumblrer brigwife sent me an Ask, saying that Patrick Troughton/Frazer Hines put that hand-hold in themselves:

“The Doctor/Jamie hand hold in Tomb of the Cybermen was unscripted, and Patrick and Frazer didn’t put it in until the actual recording, because they knew that they’d get reprimanded for it if they tried in rehearsals. Back then, once they’d recorded it onto film, that was it and they couldn’t go back and re-shoot it or edit it. So the producers had to leave it in.”

I found this fascinating—while it makes complete sense, what with filming having been in 1968ish—so I thought I’d post it. :) Thanks again to brigwife!
